IP Organiser’s Manager is Rodney Cruise. He is also a Partner of the firm, Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick. Rodney's background is in intellectual property information research, where he has more than 25 years’ experience. He is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trade Mark Attorney and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Chemistry from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Natalie is an intellectual property manager with more than 15 years’ experience in intellectual property research. She assists clients as a proxy Intellectual Property Manager, providing them with renewals, registrations, new applications, filings, assignments and provides general IP advice.

Natalie also informs clients of new patents, trade marks or designs which may potentially infringe their work. Natalie also conducts watching services for clients.

Kristine is a licenced investigator with ten years’ experience in conducting investigations into trade mark and patent infringements, along with counterfeit matters. She has a vast amount of experience in trade mark “use” and “non-use” investigations and Kristine has also appeared as an expert witness in trade mark use litigation proceedings. Kristine was the Vice President of the Association of Investigators and Security Professionals in 2013.

Dr Leigh Guerin

Leigh completed his undergraduate degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of South Australia, graduating with first class Honours. His PhD in Medicine from the University of Adelaide focussed on mechanisms of immune tolerance. Leigh was subsequently employed as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University before returning to Australia.

Kathy Baker

BSc (Maths and Comp Sci), LLB (Hons), GDLP, Grad Dip IP

Kathy’s technical background is in computer science. She has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to a variety of technologies, including electronics, software, telecommunications, mechanical devices and computer implemented inventions. She has assisted local and foreign clients to obtain intellectual property protection in Australia and overseas.

Kathy has recently re-joined POF after previously being with the firm for nearly 5 years. Before returning to POF, Kathy spent 3 years working as an intellectual property manager at an Australian R&D company, where she managed the intellectual property portfolios of two electronics start up companies.

Adam Pepper

BSc, BEng(Hons), GradCertSocSc, MIP

Adam has a decade of commercial research and development experience and is qualified in both engineering and science, with majors in electronics and applied physics. Prior to joining POF, he was working as a Design Engineer on standards-based wireless technology for a Japanese multinational provider of information technology services and products.

Dr Leon Wong

BSc (Hons I) PhD MRACI (CChem)

Leon has industrial experience in the design and synthesis of drugs and drug libraries, advanced technologies and commercial manufacturing processes. He also has extensive research experience in the total synthesis of bioactive molecules, probes for protein identification and PET-imaging ligands, as well as teaching experience in pharmacology and organic chemistry.

Peter Wassouf

B.Eng (Mech) (Hons), B.Bus

Peter is a trainee patent attorney and is involved in patent prosecution and drafting specifications for local and international clients. Peter is working towards becoming a qualified patent and trade mark attorney and is completing a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) and a Masters of Intellectual Property Law.
